Bigger 'n Better

Back in the summer of 2006, Brian had some "down time" before medical school, and this is what he thought up and then created...
After some more thinking, he added a bright, yellow toy to his other toy...
...and then, due to certain events (ie. Hurricane Ike), his toys were washed away. But we kept the slide, sanatized and cleaned it up, then saved it for another day.
Although I wouldn't call it "down time," B has made time to think about and create the bigger 'n better bed...
Eventually he will have a ladder, a desk underneath, and possibly a swing. But we're all pretty happy with bunk-bed number 2.
B has found an amazing talent and hobby in wood-working. Many of you saw his ping-pong guns he made for Christmas (all 50+ of them:). This is what he made me for my birthday, which I absolutely LOVE. It's a children's desk with benches, and the hearts are so cute...
It also inspired me to pull out my wood-working skills (with B's help). I missed my stool my Daddy made me (also lost in Hurricane Ike), so based off of his pattern, I came up with this pattern...
...and together they are such a fun masterpiece:

Daisy's Birthday

Back on April 21st, our Daisy turned into a 4-year old. She's such a joy, and loves life and just being herself. I didn't know which picture to use, so I picked a few, but they were all pretty funny...
...and, yes, that is a doggy-dish you see on her cake. She is always pretending to be a doggy, asking if she could put her bowl on the floor to eat like a dog, and on many occasions, she will "bark" her answer when I'm trying to ask her a question (like when we do school:).
So, for her birthday, I decided a doggy-dish would be the perfect gift, and I tried to get one that was not too conspicuous. However, on day 2, the cute ceramic doggy-dish broke :(, and Daddy (being the hero that he is) told her he would take her to the store to get a doggy-dish "that won't break..."
...and they came home with this: a very large, unbreakable (Daisy even demonstrated) thing is what Daisy eats her meals from and drinks her drinks from, usually from the floor. Hmmm, I'm having second thoughts about my good idea...

Daisy's birthday was also a Wednesday (half-price day at the zoo), so we went to the Fort Worth Zoo, and had a fun-filled day...

Busy, Busy

Life has been soooo crazy, lately (this is my excuse for slacking on my blog)!! Here are a few of the things that have been keeping me busy...

My beautiful girls!! The joy of my life is being a mom, and of course wife. The mom part takes a bit more time, but they are worth every minute. I sure enjoy these little crazies...
And then there's Cub Scouts. For some crazy (but good) reason, I felt inspired to do Wood Badge Training. It was amazing and amazingly INTENSE. I feel so much more confident in scouting and am curious as to what the Lord has in store for my future in scouting, be'ins I have 3 GIRLS 'n all. This is me and my patrol (BUFFALOS...EAT OUR DUST!!) at Wood Badge, SR-1040...
Then, of course, there's the preparation & planning to move to Lubbock, on May 21st. It is coming so FAST, and moving is always a bit stressful, but I am excited for the next chapter in our long road through medical school. Life has been wonderful, even when it's busy, busy.

Homeschool

So I do "school" each day with my girls (it's a trial period to see if I can actually handle being a homeschool mom). One morning I walked into the family room, and all my girls were sitting on the couches, ready for school with their school books. Faye was reading her new favorite (Beatrix Potter, Miss Tiggywinkle) to Lizzy,
and Daisy was on the other couch reading her own book. Notice there is a Thomas the Train in the picture, like usual. Her T the T pj's were dirty, or else she would have them on, too.

Sleeping Babes

I love watching (& especially cuddling with) sleeping babies. They are so angelic and precious when they lie there quietly and sweetly...

Ok, so they're not actually sleeping in this one, but they're ready for bed in their pj's, and Lizzy actually held still long enought to let me braid her hair!! So they decided to be funny and pose for the camera to show off their braids...

Fishin With Papa

2 Months ago :), Papa took Faye & Daisy fishing with him, and they actually caught a fish!! How cool is that? My girls are better fishers than I am...
