We're Noodle Folk

As each of my babies grew (against my wishes:), there would come a day where I would say to myself : "She looks like a little girl, now. Where did my baby go?" Today was that day with Liz, and here is proof:
Faye brought out the noodles to sword-fight with Lizzy. As the sword fight began, Faye very quickly elevated her sword-fighting skill to a level higher than what I thought acceptable for my baby. I told Faye, "Let Lizzy hit you, then pretend to fall down." Lizzy hit Faye, and Faye threw herself on the floor. Lizzy then hit herself and threw her little self on the floor. Then the fight continued...until Liz found Daisy's shoes...
Here's my little girl already dressing herself. What is this obsession children have with shoes-or is it just my children?

Our 1st Scissor-to-the-Hair Experience

This mess is Faye's hair, and I am the culprit with the scissors!! The other day, Daisy decided to "do" Faye's hair. First, Daisy sprayed it with the spray bottle, then wound (and wound and wound and WOUND) the comb in her hair. Faye didn't complain, because if you've ever played with Faye's hair, she won't move--she is like her Mommy, and absolutely loves her hair played with. Anyway, after spending about 10 minutes trying to un-wind the hair strands (and getting no-where), I had to go get the scissors. I was so mad--I did not want Faye's hair cut, and even more, I didn't want to be the one to cut it.

However, what's done is done, and if you have the privilage of "doing" Faye's hair, you just might find a few patches that are shorter than others...

We Love Papa Payne

Yesterday, Papa Payne gave us all quite a scare, but I can bet he was even more scared than us when he was put through the experience of having a heart attack. We love you Papa, and you are in all of our prayers.

Baby Love

Liz loves babies!! During our week at Grandma Payne's, Tyler & Jess were there with Baby Rachel. Lizzy absolutely loves that little cousin on hers. She would talk to her, squeal with delight at her, hug her (sometimes a little too aggrssivly), and give her plenty of slobbery kisses--and she's too little to wipe them off. No wonder Jess & Tyler gave Rachel a bath every morning:).

4th of July Fun

This year we spent the 4th up in Weatherford, Texas. Between chocolate ice cream cones, bbq'd hamburgers, firecrackers, an endless supply of popcicles, and being with family, we had a very fun 4th of July.

Our little family watching the fireworks show, put on by Jason & Michelle.

Jason & Michelle made it a lot of fun for our family. Our girls wouldn't have had much (or any) of a firecracker experience if it wasn't for them. This is Michelle helping Faye with a roman candle:

While we were lighting sparklers and watching firecrackers, Faye kept asking me when it was going to be time to eat the crackers. At first, I thought "Who told you we were eating crackers?" When she kept asking me about it, and I asked her, "What crackers are you talking about, Faye?" She said, "You know, Mommy--the cwackers!!" I still didn't understand, until a few seconds later I was talking to B, and I said the word: "fire-CRACKER." I then explained to Faye what a firecracker was, just as we were watching the last one go off:).

Aunt Krystal, the Cowgirl

Aunt Krystal has taken my girls out riding many times, and it is always a highlight for them (and me). I am very impressed with Krystal's skills with her horse. Glory is a lucky horse to have such a good owner & friend!

My girls watching Krystal perform her horse tricks.

Here's Krystal having Glory lay down--something very difficult for a horse (& rider) to do.

And when she stood up...

Galveston Sunrise

I know my camera doesn't do it justice, but this is a Galveston Sunrise. A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege of waking up early in the morning to drop my hubby off for his early-morning meetings before church. On the drive home, the sun was coming up, and it was so neat to be able to look directly at the sun (without being blinded:). Faye asked me why the sun looked "so wierd & orange." We all enjoyed the early morning beauty.

Making Mommy's Bed

My sweetheart, mini-mommy Faye decided she wanted to make my bed for me-all on her own. I heard her singing, "I'm making Mommy's Bed..." and decided I better get the camera...

And this is the end result: A perfectly made bed, because it was made with love:). One of the things that brings me the most joy is when I see my children serve other people!!

Father's Day 2009

For one of their Father's Day gifts, the girls wanted to "wub Daddy's back."
MINUTE ONE
MINUTE TWO

MINUTE THREE: Lizzy finally made it on the bed.

MINUTE FOUR: That didn't last long:).

Daddy also entertained his girls for Father's Day--they sure love it when Daddy has time to play with them.

Fun at Home

Liz was in her Ladybug cloth diaper the other day when Faye decided to accessorize: she pinned her ladybug hair clips (that Aunt Jeni made for my girls) to Lizzy's diaper. Her logic was that it needed more ladybugs, cuz Lizzy was trying to pick them off.

This is how Liz walked around at church today...I'll let you guess who did it:).

Faye, Daisy, and I are scrapbooking--something I just started up again since before Hurricane Ike.

Mamma T & Lizzy-lu.
She's a fun one!!

Daisy fell asleep half way on the bouncy bed, half way on her bed. We were even playing on the bouncy bed, too.
