Sick Bug

The last couple of days have been full of fevers, gatoraid, vomiting, chills, thermometers, blankies, dirty blankies, laundry, and cuddling (lots of cuddling). I took this picture right before Faye had a big bought of vomitting. There are even little tears on her cheecks. After she finished throwing up, or "puking" (as Faye stated), she was much happier. Strange how that works sometimes...
This is our living room today: note the metal bowl (for vomiting), all the blankets, and the scattered books.

Home Fun

Down here in Galveston, the summers are HOT and HUMID! In order for us to go outside, I have to lather each child with sunscreen & then spray them down with insect repellant, knowing that if I miss even an inch, those dern mosquitos will find it. What it really does, is help me be more creative indoors:

B, Daisy, & I made homemade bread yesterday: letter breadsticks for each of the girls, some delicious calzones (Brian's invention), a doggy (by Daisy), braid breadstick, and some normal loaves--all made with whole wheat. It was yummy, yummy!! (Liz & Faye weren't feeling well enough to help out--they just sat & watched).
One of the days last week, I found Daisy sitting in this bucket--silly girl in her own little world.

Liz-kid, Biffy, Lizard, Lizzy-lu, The Beth, Lizzy, Whizzy, Izzy, My Izzy-Bef, and many more. AKA: Elizabeth Val Payne!!

My wonderful mother use to make me the cutest little "babies-in-a-blanket" when I was a little girl. Mostly I remember Mom W. making them during church (probably to keep me quiet:) with one of her handkerchiefs. My girls will often ask me, "Will you make 2 babies with my blanket?" It's pretty cute!!

Bouncy Bed

We have a bed. It is known as the "bouncy bed" and I use it as an indoor trampoline. It has provided a lot of fun for us, especially when it's too hot & mosquito-y to go outside.

Here's a few seconds of their fun (and mine, too:).

Crabby, the Crab

I took the girls to the beach last week. While we were there, Daisy spotted a crab. About 10 minutes later, I caught Crabby. That little critter kept snapping at me, and he sure could move fast when in water. Of course Lizzy kept wanting to be my center of attention & almost stepped on him a few times (unkowingly). That, of course, would stir up the dirt, and I would have to try to find him again. But in the end, Mommy prevailed! We brought him home to show Daddy...

Lizzy & Crabby (notice B's hands going to stop Liz from touching the crab)

Faye & Crabby

Daisy loved Crabby and is actually the one who named him "Crabby." She was very gentle with Crabby, and even talked sweetly to him. Too bad she doesn't always treat Lizzy that way--maybe it's because Lizzy can "talk" (aka: fight) back.

B thought I was just taking his picture with Crabby--wha, ha, ha (evil laugh):):). After playing with Crabby for a while, Daddy took the girls back to the beach to release him back into the wild. There were some sad goodbyes that day:).
