Weatherford Happenings

We're sick AGAIN!! For some strange reason, we've been having our fair share (plus some) of that little sick bug. There's been a lot of laundry, a lot of medication, and a lot of messy rooms lately. I guess I can look on the positive side of things: the Children't Ibuprofen won't expire, and I sure get A LOT of "tuddles" (cuddles:)...
This one was cute of all the girls wearing their aprons. (Lizzy's scrapes on her chin happened when Daisy accidently knocked the ping-pong table over on her--just if you were wondering:)...

The other day, I noticed that Daisy had chosen to wear purple beads. Normally she picks green or blue. I thought maybe some of Faye's habits may be finally showing through her sister. However, a little while later, Daisy came to me very upset, complaining that her "oww-eh-gado's tail is bwoken." She showed me her purple beads, and I said to myself, "Ah, ha!"...

...as you can see the purple beads have little alligators threaded throughout them. And she sleeps with those rubber snakes, by the way. She wanted to sleep with the alligators, but mean old mommy won't let her girls sleep with beads, even if they have alligators on them.

A couple weeks back, we had a cook-out in the back yard. Lizzy helped B dig the hole...

Payne Family Reunion

It has been over 6 years since the entire Payne clan was together at one time (due to missions, college, marriage, etc). So for over a year, Mom & Dad Payne have been planning this reunion, and every singe Payne was here, including Great Gr.ma & pa Payne (31 people in one house). While everyone was here, Mom decided to do a family dance. I tried to video Faye dancing, but as I watched the video later, I realized that this video pretty much sums up what it was like during the 2 weeks of the reunion: A lot of noise, a lot of chaos, never a clean room, and a whole lot of fun!!!

Christmas 2009

On Christmas Eve, we had a blizzard!! Can you believe it snowed in Texas?!? It was sure a lot of fun to be able to play in snow again, although it was pretty windy. Lizzy and Daisy weren't able to handle too much of it. Faye stayed out in the snow with Aunt Jessica until after it got dark, and they had so much fun in the stuff (thank you, Jessica).
It snowed so much, in fact that it actually stayed for 2 whole days, so we were able to wake up to a white Christmas...

For Christmas, I made the girls aprons with a little mouse in the pocket (I had one when I was a kid that Mom had made me). This is Liz showing me her fruit snack (and how cute she is):

Rob & Wendy made our whole family amazing beanies in our favorite color!! They are so awesome!! Liz & Daisy wore their hats all morning, and Lizzy wants to wear hers every day, even to church. So I took your advice, Wendy, and just clipped a bow into her hat for Sunday. It was so cute.

Fishy Kisses

I have been trying to post this for some time but been having some technical difficulties; however, I am now able to present (drum-roll).....THE FISHY KISS!!

Anyone who knows Liz, knows she has the most squishy, plump, kissable cheeks. This is the most popular kiss, as of late, known as the Fishy Kiss. And the best part of it all (besides getting to kiss her) is that Lizzy loves it!!

One of the reasons we went down to Houston to the Cox's when we did was because Mom & Dad Woodbury were there. This is Lizzy recieving a Fishy Kiss in the bamboo forest at the arboretum from Grandma & Papa Woodbury:

A New Neice & Cousin

I finally got to meet my new neice!! Chloe was born November 1st, and she is such a CUTE little one-month old. It was sure fun cuddling with her, and I was very impressed with how patient she was with so many people kissing her (especially because 4 of them were 4 years old & under)...

I have an obsession with baby toes...

Chloe's not in this photo, but I thought it was pretty neat to see a six-foot tall Mommy cuddling in a toddler bed with her toddler:). Zetta sure makes a good big sister. She would often ask if she could hold Chloe, and whenever the answer was "yes" she was so soft & sweet with her baby sister.

"Supper"

The neighbors have a pet deer. They found it on the side of the road when he was just a baby fawn. He had been hit by a car and had a broken leg. So they brought him home, stinted his leg, bottle-fed him, and named him "Supper." He is the friendliest little thing, and it's been a lot of fun having him around.



He stopped to play with us while we were on a morning walk this last week...

Brian set up chairs out back so we could all come out and enjoy the outdoors on this beautiful Sunday evening. Supper saw the crowd and came to play. His antlers are starting to bud out, or whatever you call it, so he likes to pretend he's head-butting, but he plays like a dog. It is so funny to watch. I tried to catch it on camera, but wasn't able to, but I did get a pretty cute one with Faye & Lizzy playing with the deer...

Halloween 2009

This year we continued our traditional "night-before-Halloween dinner" with the pumkin casserole (thanks Wendy), worm graveyard, and witch's potion...

On Halloween night we went to a member's barn for a party. They went to a lot of work to make it a fun night. They had cute decorations, a chili cook-off, a photo set-up, pies, pumpkin-carving competion, hay-ride, and trick-or-treating. We had been working hard all day on the new addition, so it was a nice break and we had a lot of fun. Faye was a dancer, Daisy a kitty, and Lizzy was a frog. I'll let you guess the "origional" costumes B and I had--ha, ha...

Weatherford

I love living in Weatherford!! The girls are absolutely loving their new home, and I appreciate all the opportunities they have to explore and to get to be with extended family.

When we moved in, the new addition wasn't quite ready for us, so we have been working hard. Yes, "we" have. That means me, too. Papa Payne taught me about electricity, and I love it!! I can install outlets, light switches, fans, light fixtures, and most importantly I UNDERSTAND it all. It's pretty fun learning new skills. Here is a before & after photo that Faye took of me (& Daisy) wiring a 3-way outlet...

The downside to being an electrician (he, he) is that my hands sure took a beating. After all the scrapes, scratches, twisting, and pinching the wires, I was holding B's hand that night, and he said: "My, those are some sure rough hands." So, as much fun as I'm having, I don't think I will persue my career as an electrician:).
